Managing Diarrhea In Yorkies

As a yorkie breeder who occasionally offers yorkie puppies for sale, I would like to offer advice on managing diarrhea in your yorkie. If your yorkie or any breed dog has ate something that seems to have upset his stomach and caused diarrhea, I recommend adding 100% pure canned pumpkin to his diet. Canned pumpkin is good for diarrhea and also for constipation…You can add 1 to 2 tablespoons a few times per day. You can add this to his meal or you can just have him lick it off of your finger. Usually the dogs like the canned pumpkin. Please be sure you are giving 100% pure canned pumpkin and NOT the canned pumpkin pie mix. You find canned pumpkin in the baking section of most grocery stores. You may also want to offer boiled chicken and rice instead of dog food. I recommend contacting your vet if the diarrhea persists or if it is not assumed it is diet related. There are many causes of diarrhea. Be sure your dog is drinking plenty of water and has access to water at all times.
