Recent Headlines – Parvo Virus on the Rise

I just received this alert from another breeder. Parvo virus is on the rise in Virginia. Your pup will have already had his Vet Wellness visit and arrive to you healthy and with a Vet Wellness Form. Your pup will have already received the start of his vaccinations, however, your yorkie pup will still need additional vaccinations before his immunity has built up…. I would advise   NOT  taking him to dog parks, pet stores, doggy daycare, grooming salons etc. until all shots have been received. While parvovirus does not affect people, we can still spread the disease. We always take our shoes off before entering our house, as diseases can be carried on shoes. If your pet gets sick, is very tired, has a loss of appetite or a fever, they could have canine parvovirus. Puppies are more susceptible to the disease than older dogs.
